Atlas Sober Living LLC (“Atlas Sober Living,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates recovery residences in Connecticut and the website at atlassoberliving.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using our website, submitting an application or inquiry, or communicating with us by phone, email, or text message, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who We Are

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us

  • Contact details — your name, phone number, email address, and mailing address.
  • Inquiry and referral information — what you tell us when you contact us, request availability, or are referred to us by a treatment provider, discharge planner, case manager, or other third party.
  • Application information — the information you provide when you apply for residency, which may include your recovery history, employment and income information, emergency contacts, references, and other details relevant to determining eligibility for housing.
  • Records related to residency — agreements, payment records, and communications, for residents and former residents.

Information collected automatically

  • Standard web data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and referring page, collected through our website and its analytics tools.
  • Cookies and similar technologies used to operate the site and understand how it is used. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings.

Communications data

  • Records of calls, text messages, and emails between you and Atlas Sober Living, including your consent to receive text messages and any later request to stop receiving them.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To respond to inquiries and provide information about availability, pricing, and our residences.
  • To process and evaluate applications for residency.
  • To coordinate move-in, billing, and day-to-day communication with residents.
  • To send transactional and informational text messages and emails you have asked to receive.
  • To operate, maintain, and improve our website.
  • To comply with legal obligations and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

4. Text Messaging and Mobile Information

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

You are enrolled in text messages only if you opt in. Opt-in happens through the chat widget on atlassoberliving.com, by giving your mobile number to our staff by phone or in person and verbally agreeing to be texted, or by texting our published number first. Consent is given directly to Atlas Sober Living LLC, and no other form on our website collects SMS opt-in consent.

If you provide your mobile number and consent to receive text messages, we use it only to communicate with you about your inquiry, your application, your residency, and related scheduling, reminders, and account matters. We share it with our messaging service provider solely to deliver those messages on our behalf, and with no one else.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can stop receiving messages at any time by replying STOP, and you can request help by replying HELP or contacting us at [email protected]. Opting out of text messages does not affect your application or your residency, and we will continue to reach you by phone or email.

Full details of our text messaging program, including how consent is obtained, are described in our Terms of Service.

5. How We Share Information

We share personal information only in the following circumstances, and the categories below exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent, which is never shared with any third party:

  • Service providers. Companies that perform services for us — for example, our customer relationship and messaging platform, resident management software, payment processor, email provider, and website host. They may use the information only to perform those services for us.
  • With your authorization. Where you have signed a release, we may share information with parties you have identified, such as a treatment provider, probation officer, case manager, or family member.
  • Legal and safety. Where required by law, subpoena, or court order, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of a resident, our staff, or the public.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers.

6. Sensitive Information

Applying to and living in a recovery residence involves sharing information that is personal and sensitive, including information about substance use and recovery. We limit access to that information to the staff and contractors who need it to evaluate an application or support a resident, we store it in access-controlled systems, and we do not disclose it for marketing purposes or to anyone outside Atlas Sober Living except as described in Section 5.

7. Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy and to meet our legal, tax, insurance, and recordkeeping obligations. Application records for applicants who do not become residents are retained for a limited period to document our decision-making, then deleted or de-identified.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, encrypted transmission, and role-based permissions in the systems we use. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Choices and Rights

  • Text messages. Reply STOP to any message, or contact us, to stop receiving them.
  • Email. Use the unsubscribe link in any non-transactional email, or contact us.
  • Access and correction. You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing [email protected].
  • Deletion. You may request that we delete your information. We may need to retain certain records to meet legal obligations or to document a housing decision.

We will respond to requests within the time required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity first.

10. Children’s Privacy

Our residences and our website are intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Third-Party Links

Our website links to outside resources, including recovery organizations and helplines. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated to current residents directly.
